There was an eerie, almost unbearable silence that surrounded her. The moment her paws touched the sands of the island, the haunting voices that once taunted her had become taciturn when she desired them most. She had anxiously ventured from the ocean shore with the aspiration of unearthing something astounding. However, her bi-colored eyes had yet to see anything unusual. It was not until a painful rumble in her stomach seized her attention, realizing more time than favorable had passed since her last meal. She had not recognized how ravenous she had become, but as she trotted further up a grassy incline, her attention shifted yet again, torn between the two things that often dominated her thoughts; blood and the voices.

She halted at the top of the slope, nearly having to squint against the bright, setting sun. Her were eyes captivated by the landscape that unveiled itself to her from the high perch. The open, tall grassy field which she traveled through gradually created a soft edge which led into scrub type habitat and eventually mature, forested areas further ahead. There was an array of flora, most bearing their lush, summer green leaves. It was a prime area to hide an herb or even food cache. Beneath the thorny bushes was among her favorite hiding locations. The young wolf did not mind a few thorns if it kept unwanted thieves at bay.

"Hello?" she called out impulsively. The ivory wolf was careless of who may be lurking."Is this where you wanted me to go?" her voice broke the still air, with a bit of uncertainty. Her rounded ears swiveled around while her pleading gaze danced about the horizon. There was still no reply, and she stared down at her paws disdainfully.

None of this made any sense at all. Her spirits had been greatly dampened and her usual quirky personality had faded from the deep disappointment she felt. Certainly, she had not looked close enough. She knew she was missing something, but what she was unsure. She had no direction or plan. Nothing but a blind faith. Then, her ears perked forward with a sudden warm, burst of hope- an idea. Her long tail which had hung limply behind her now swayed, brushing through the grass. It blades rustled violently from her reckless movements, creating a ruckus that was not there before.

Her slender body began to happily prance down the incline and towards the forest. She moved with elegance although lacking in stealth. Her already achy paws and empty belly were not forgotten but were ignored. With ears pressed forward and eyes wide in anticipation as she headed straight for the more dense vegetation straight ahead, clearly up to something.

Rounded ears swiveled as a strange voice entered the breathing air. The content of the soft sound were not joyous or polite. Instead, the young female found them rather irritating. Her long tail lashed as a whip behind her in a display of this displeasure while she continued to trot forward for a moment. Her head turning to see another equally pale wolf approaching. She halted her movements, ears perked and tail inert behind her now. Wicked eyes watched the other approach, uncertain of how she felt about this sort of company. This wolf was already exhibiting a disbelief towards what plagued her. The voices were no mere delusion for the one who converses with the deceased.

She stood in the dense shrubbery, just before the mature hardwood forest. Her head tilted slightly to one side inquisitively as snarling words now escaped the stranger's jaws. She smirked in a mockingly manner, dark pink lips glistening against the sunlight. She found herself intrigued by this she-wolf who so eagerly followed her despite her vocalized disapproval of Astra's careless venturing. Astra said nothing until the stranger managed to catch up.

"Why do you want to follow a delusional girl?" she asked playfully, her smirk still smeared across her narrow muzzle. Each of her different colored eyes were fixated on the stranger's lovely form. "Do you fear such creatures, stranger?" she asked still grinning, her tail starting to gently sway happily at the arrival of company. It had been quite some time since she was in the presence of another wolf. When one only had the voices of the deceased to comfort her, you could easily question your sanity.

She shifted her gaze back to the destination ahead, ears perked forward eager to continue, but she waited. She waited to see if this coward of a wolf had any interest in following her, or if she sought something else entirely. Her curiosity kept her paws firmly planted in place. As single ear rotated towards the stranger whom she yet to acquire a name for.
